bumbling along
Been a while. I sit here, hacking away with a chest cold. Am I surprised? Not one bit. I do have to say that I love living here so far. The hard part is staying home with Griff and playing housemommy. When I left massage I was so ready, but now I'm ready to go back! It's such a love/hate relationship. But, a housewife I am not, even though I love to bake bread, cook, and tidy up (although that can get a little OCD if I don't watch myself.) It's also hard being SICK and taking care of a child. At least I only have one, and am beginning to believe that one is it. I have no desire to go through pregnancy again, no desire to breastfeed, no desire to change diapers every three minutes. I love my almost autonomous child. He can run and jump and climb and I don't have to follow him around every second to make sure that he's keeping the small bits out of his mouth. Yes, babies are cute and cuddly but I don't look at them and go, "Oh, I really want another one." We'll see how that goes. One of us will have to be fixed and I'm not sure hubby is ready for that.

Yes, city living. It's grande. I don't mind the noise and the bustle. Griff and I went for this great bike ride about town the other day. There's a bike path not too far from our house that follows the Winooski River. Very pretty. Didn't go too far, though. That would mean me carrying a bike most of the way home while pushing mine. I haven't ridden in years and it was so great. When I lived in Boulder, CO I didn't own a car because I just couldn't afford one. I rode my bike everywhere. Fantastic! We can do that here, too, but Griffy just isn't quite old enough yet to have that much stamina available to him.

All in all, life is good. I'm sick, but not cranky.
