3:54 p.m. - 2008-03-24 Today was challenging. Our friend's parking area was a swamp of mud, so of course I parked there and overnight said mud freezes. Stuck. Hubby had to come to the house from work to pull me out. As I tried feverishly to forward/back my way out of frozen muck, one tire spinning away, I screamed "I hate this fucking place!" Ouch, do I mean that? I really don't care for the town. It's where hubby hopes to move and I feel so dismal when I'm there. So, we will find a compromise. Anyway, I go back into the house to wait for G to arrive, take off my glasses (which have been a little wonky since Griffyn managed to drop them on the floor as he was handing them to me) to adjust them and they snap! There goes the fresh lenses I had replaced only two months ago (with gift certificates, but STILL!) Off to the mall once the car is pulled with a quick stop to Toys 'R' Us to pick up a small lego thing for distraction. Of course Lens Crafters is busy and we have to wait, and of course Griffyn decides to lose it. I almost cried. Through all of that I managed to find a decent frame that didn't make me look funny and not just grab something off the shelf. Finally help arrives and we are out of there to wait for an hour until the glasses are finished. By this time Griffyn is much more agreeable. We eat sandwiches and ice cream and run around the mall trying not to mow the "mall walkers" down. Glasses done, we make our way to the car and I'm completely wiped out. I secretely wish for him to nap in the car, but it doesn't happen. Now we're just chilling out at my MIL's until daddy gets here, then mommy drives home (two hours),finish "No Country for Old Men", go to bed ALONE and sleep in! This is what I wait for these days. So, last Friday I come home and find this book, "Mating in Captivity", lying on the desk. It's not a wildlife book, but it's damn interesting. Mostly it's about keeping the desire going in a long-term relationship. G's therapist recommended it for him to read. We'll see where this takes us next...
