Not moving.
We're not moving, at least not into the house in Richmond, VT. The communal living thing. This was actually my husband's decision. It all started last week when I had a freak out about moving away from here, away from a solid job, a solid foundation. I was also very concerned about moving to that communal house since the people living in it now are basically slobs and just don't really care about cleaning. Plus the amount of household pets exceeds even my standards - five indoor cats and two old dogs, all of which at some point relieve themselves inside the house. Yuck. To live with people who don't care so much about the condition of their house is just not going to work, especially for me. My space needs to be clean and relatively clutter free. I'm not talking about obsessive/compulsive clean, just neat and tidy. After talking about my worries I began to feel better about moving and told Geoffrey that I was very willing to give it a go since it was something he really, really wanted to do. However, my concerns flood his brain and yesterday he realized that he just couldn't live with that many animals in a house where they basically ruled the roost. Phew. Now I'm not sure what is going to happen. We will have to move regardless since the house we are in now is going to be sold and there is no way in hell we are going to buy it. Needs too much work. In fact it should just be torn down and a new house built in its place. Plus it's just a bit too small. We do not have the credit history to even attempt getting a mortgage. So, I'm putting it out to the universe to attract good things in the house department. We may still move to the Burlington area. I think it would be nice to be up there. Definitely scary for me since I have to start a practice up there, but not impossible. Who knows. We have a lot of thinking to do. I should call the Vermont Housing Finance Association. They help first-time buyers get their act together. It might be a very good thing to do...I would love to own our own house.
